Cambridge Investment Research came to KCD PR needing to increase its brand awareness in the . The team wanted to continue to grow its brand of trusted advisors, while implementing a new strategy in the form of internal and external media relations. With the goal of additional acquisitions, Cambridge needed KCD PR’s help to position its team as not only trusted financial experts, but reliable partners in both B2B and B2C capacities.
Solution
To establish Cambridge as the and increase brand awareness with the goal of reaching other advisors, the KCD PR team created a strategy positioning Cambridge executives as thought leaders, as well as sought-after experts in the financial services (FinServ) industry. To accomplish this goal, the KCD PR team focused on an owned media campaign – creating custom content that could be pitched to financial advisor media as part of a content marketing campaign. Placing contributed commentary allowed Cambridge to control its message and be the sole thought leader to reach it target audience. Over the course of a campaign cycle, KCD PR placed contributed content on topics such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and advisory firm practice management in key publications such as ThinkAdvisor, Financial Planning and Investment Advisor.
Results
KCD PR secured media placements in a variety of industry publications, including both thought leadership and announcement coverage. Many of the placements included trusted industry publications identified as key targets by the Cambridge team like CityWire, ThinkAdvisor, WealthManagement.com, Financial Advisor Magazine and InvestmentNews.
On a national level, KCD PR secured feature coverage in Fortune and Fox Business, highlighting Cambridge’s financial advisors as leaders in the succession planning field. Fox Business’s website receives over 19M viewers per month according to ComScore. Cambridge’s national coverage in Fox Business stayed on its home page for an extended period of time and syndicated to The Wealth Advisor, Head Topics and MSN. Additionally, KCD PR secured placements in Wealth Management, CityWire RIA, and Financial Advisor around the hiring of the firm’s new SVP of Strategic Acquisitions.
